Wishpool is a shared list for a family. You write down what you would like. The people who might buy it can see the list, claim something, and mark it bought so two relatives do not bring the same present.

What stays a surprise

The person a list is for never learns which wishes have been bought. That is a rule in the database, not a switch in the page. Their copy of the list has no purchase field at all.
